A US boy (Dre Parker) comes to China with his mother and things happen to him one by one.He makes friends with a beautiful girl,yet one of her male friends doesn't show kindness to Dre.They make conflict:they have a fight.The Chinese boy has been trained by kungfu.Needless to say,Dre loses,and this is his first frustration after arriving at Beijing.In another fighting which the US boy is doomed to lose,Cheng,a maintenance worker,saves him by defeating the Chinese boys.Cheng promises to teach Dre kungfu.After a period of training,Dre comes to learn kungfu step by step.In the end,he wins the champion in a kungfu competition for children.Besides kungfu,the boy learns other knowledge during that process of training.And the Chinese boys learn what real kungfu spirit is.Cheng removes an obsession which has long vexed him.
